Autumn Adventures

Autumn adventures invite you to enjoy yourself in the vibrant colors of the ruska season. Activities include fishing and enjoying a relaxing sauna by Lake Suksijärvi. You can also visit a reindeer farm and gather fresh lichens from the wild to feed the reindeer. Along the way, we’ll prepare delicious Lappish dishes. During an evening excursion, you might witness the northern lights dancing in the sky and reflecting off the calm surface of the lake.

Late Autumn Northern Lights Adventure

As your local guide, I’ll pick you up from your accommodation, whisking you away on a thrilling journey towards the northern horizon—the birthplace of the mesmerizing Aurora Borealis.

As we venture into the crisp Arctic night, I’ll regale you with enchanting tales of Lapland’s rich culture, the mystical northern lights, and the iconic reindeer that roam these lands. Our quest? To witness one of nature’s most spectacular phenomena—the dancing lights of the Aurora.

If the elusive lights don’t make an appearance, fear not! We’ll create our own magic around a cozy campfire, where the crackling flames will set the stage for an intimate Arctic experience.

Private Forest Adventure

Join me, your local guide, as we embark on a foraging adventure through Lapland’s unspoiled forests. Learn to identify and gather the region’s finest wild berries and mushrooms, a time-honored tradition passed down through generations. After our harvest, we’ll settle by a crackling fire to prepare a meal together using our foraged treasures. As we cook, I’ll share insights into Lapland’s unique ecosystem, local customs, and the art of wilderness survival.

Autumn Day with Fishing, Lunch and Reindeer farm Visit

Fishing with an angle is relaxing and takes your thoughts out of everything else. We go fishing to lake Suksijärvi, enjoy Lappish lunch, of course fish if we catch it. Part of the day is picking fresh lichens from the wild to give to the reindeer and go visit a reindeer farm to feed the reindeer and hear many interesting stories about reindeer herding.

Autumn Hike and Reindeer Farm Visit

We set off into the colourful landscape to conquer the northernmost fell of Kittilä municipality, Puljutunturi. During the 3 km hike you will hear stories about the surrounding nature and the local, nature-oriented way of life.

At a open hut in the fell we will roast sausages, crêpes and brew a good cup of coffee. We may also see reindeer on the hike, but that will be confirmed when we visit the reindeer farm to feed the reindeer with our hand picked lichen.
